Inca is a very busy, industrial town at the end of the railway line from Palma. Inca is a town heavily promoted that all tourists should visit and excursions usually coincide with the huge Thursday market.
The town of Inca is also famous for its many leather factories and retail outlets, most of which encourage visits. Prices can be high but a visit is interesting to say the least.
Inca is famous for its cuisine and the town presents a wide selection of fine restaurants. Seek out some of the towns cellars which are rustic restaurants where the wine is drawn from huge vats that line the walls. Try the local specialities of snails or suckling pig for a real treat.
Inca also offers a wealth of monuments worthy of a visit. There are numerous churches built in traditional Mallorcan style, built with honey coloured stone. All have their own art treasures worth seeing.

Outside the town, from the Inca-Alcudia road, turn right and follow the road to the Ermita de Santa Magdalena. The road continues to the peak of the Puig d'Inca (304m) and a small sanctuary from which you have splendid views of the countryside. There is a small chapel and cafe for visitors. Each year there is a pilgrimage to the hermitage, said to have been held for over 800 years. It is held on the first Sunday after Easter.
