Los Millares is located in the centre of a 10,000 hectare shooting estate, covered in stone oak trees and vast meadows of wild flowers and despite its slightly remote location, it is well worth finding. We have stayed in so many hotels in Spain over the last three years, each one totally unique, this one was by far, one of the very best. You will find Los Millares just above Ayamonte and Huelva, close to the border with Portugal, in one of the most peaceful settings in Spain. If you enjoy the countryside and want to unwind, then this is the place to be. The cortijo is a working farm and still produces its own Iberian pigs and sheep for sale all over Europe. During your stay, the huge estate is yours to explore either on horseback, by cycle or in one of the farms 4x4 vehicles. If you stayed here for a year you would not see all the estate.
The estate also has a selection of lakes for fishing. The lakes are well stocked and fishing tackle can be provided. During the hunting season the hotel organises its own shoots. The hotel has its own stables with horses for use on the estate. The hotel has a spacious and comfortable lounge with a log fire in the winter months, a games room with a pool table, two bars and a restaurant.

One thing you notice about the hotel is the friendly atmosphere and the staff will make you feel welcome the minute you arrive. You will receive individual treatment at Millares. The restaurant serves a wide selection of quality meals at very reasonable prices. Many of the meals comprise of their own produce, such as the highly recommended pork or lamb chops. The cortijo has been tastefuly furnished throughout with period furniture and all the rooms are decorated with various hunting trophies and pictures.

You will find your room very spacious and furnished in typical country style. Most rooms have views over the gardens where peacocks roam amid the colourful flower borders. Rooms have satellite TV and fitted bathrooms with shower. A healthy country breakfast is included.
Our opinion One of the best hotels we have stayed in during our three years and we would recommend Cortijo Los Millares to anyone. The staff were very friendly and are dedicated to the satisfaction of the guests. We didn´t want to leave. The hotel is totally unique and benefits from a beautiful, peaceful setting which will always remain unspoilt. Everywhere you look you will see wildlife in its natural habitat.
