The
Casa del Califa is located in the hilltop village of Vejer
de la Frontera, just above Barbate on the Costa
de la Luz. It occupies a prime position on the Plaza
de España, a beautiful tiled plaza with a water
fountain.

| The
hotel is constructed from four Moorish houses, all knocked
into one but retaining some of the unique layout. The
hotel has been furnished in Arabic style with many genuine
pieces of furniture. The bedrooms are tastefuly furnished
and spacious. They include air conditioning, satellite
TV, phone and safe. The bathrooms are clean and well equipped. |

The
reception staff are friendly and speak English. They
are happy to make your stay comfortable and will supply
you with local information.

The
games room in particular has an Arabian feel. Enjoy
a peaceful drink here from the bar. Or take your drink
to the rooftop terrace and soak up the sun. Your buffet
style breakfast can also be taken on the terrace.

| The
hotel has about 17 rooms of various sizes and prices start
at around 39€ for a single room per night and around
50€ for a night in a double room. Please check your
price and availability with the hotel. |

Our
opinion
The
Casa del Califa occupies an ideal location within the
village, easy to find and within walking distance of all
the monuments. The front of the hotel opens onto the Plaza
de España and the hotel terrace looks out to open
countryside. The hotel staff are friendly and eager to
please. The hotel has a definate Moorish feel to it which
is quite different. The rooms are comfortable, clean and
spacious. The air conditioning is a great advantage. You
also get satellite TV, phone, safe and a well fitted bathroom.
Altogether a comfortable stay in a pleasant village. Be
careful of parking outside the hotel. |
