idealspain visits Torrevieja
We visited
Torrevieja in
November 2001.
We found the
town to be
nothing like
we expected it
to be and were
bitterly
disappointed.
Although the
sea-front area
was well kept
and very
attractive,
the town in
the background
can only be
described as
disorganised
chaos. The
street system
was badly
managed and
impossible to
navigate by
car. We found
ourselves
constantly
disorientated.The
residential
areas
comprise
of
several
huge
urbanisations,
all
of
which
appeared
to
have
spread
in
every
direction
with
very
little
attention
being
paid
to
organisation.
New
building
work
seems
to
be
adding
to
the
confusion.
However,
in
general
this
is
another
good
holiday
resort
that
offers
beaches, sunshine
and
sangria.
Idealspain went back to Torrevieja in February 2011. We instantly noticed that Torrevieja had improved dramatically. Old roads have been renewed and many areas have been tidied up. A lot of the dirty bars have gone and been replaced with clean and modern businesses. Torrevieja sea front is superb and the whole resort is perfect for family holidays.
