Granada University on the Costa Tropical
The original Granada University, La Madraza, was founded by the Moorish Sultan Yusuf I in 1349. The building was later used as the town hall and is still standing today, close to the cathedral. The modern University owes its origins to the initiative of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, grandson of the Catholic Monarchs, Isabella and Ferdinand. In 1531, Pope Clement VII issued a papal bull granting the foundation in Granada of a College of General Studies.

The great tradition of schooling in Cartagena began 100 years ago and still continues nowadays, especially the studies of Technology and Economy. The technology studies of Cartagena where, because of their antiquity, at the start of the development of the Technology studies in Spain. Murcia University on the Costa Calida
Murcia University was built in 1272, during the reign of Alfonso X, El Sabio. However the university had a tumultuous start and disappeared shortly after its creation. The University of Murcia of today was founded in 1915 and integrated into the Colegio de La Merced which has been transformed into the Law Faculty. There are approximately 34,000 students studying at the University and this number has been increasing due to the popularity of the University's location and the amount of courses on offer.

Tarragona University on the Costa Dorada
Tarragona University, Rovira i Virgili, is the public university of the southern regions of Catalonia, with campuses in Tarragona, Reus and Vilaseca. The university tradition in the region dates back to the 16th century.
